Good God. The pace of this research is somewhat gruelling. Who knew that the task of reading and annotating one Nancy Drew book per week would take us researchers to the edge of insanity? We know that the work is well-paid, rewarding, adding to knowledge, blah blah blah. But it comes at a price. And the big question is, of course, does anyone really care? We care and we don’t even know why. It is almost too much to expect that the random visitor to these stats will really take the time to not only read them, but actually ponder what it means to be a teenaged sleuth here in middle earth.
Truly. Our hope here at the NDRI (The Nancy Drew Research Institute) is that the cumulative information, in sheer weight alone, will reveal something of vital importance to humanity. To be honest, we have not glimpsed yet what this might be.
